My experience so far at JWC

My experience so far at JWC has been great. I have been wanting to do this course for a couple of years and I'm finally doing it. I love all my classes and enjoy learning how to use make-up and sfx. I am also learning a lot about hairdressing and although I really didn't want to do hairdressing I am finding it realy interesting.

My lectures are great and are always there to help if needed and my fellow students have been a pleasure to work with and to get to know.

To sum up my experience so far at JWC I would say it was fantastic! :D

The four capacities

The purpose of the curriculum is encapsulated in the four capacities - to enable each child or young person to be a successful learner, a confident individual, a responsible citizen and an effective contributor.

The curriculum aims to ensure that all children and young people in Scotland develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they will need if they are to flourish in life, learning and work, now and in the future. These are summed up in the detailed wording of the four capacities.
I use these skills in college when:

• I use the computer for research.
• I build my confidence up and use communication skills with other students.
• Develop new skills in class an learn new information.
• Use my initiative to create my own designs and ideas.
